The highly interactive program is aimed at:

• Supporting staff to better understand children’s developmental needs and behaviours

• Helping staff create stronger, more positive relationships with children

• Helping staff to develop new understandings and approaches to build a child’s self-esteem and identity

• Building staff’s confidence and capacity to respond to challenging behaviours

• Providing staff with practical advice and strategies to relate to the children in new and creative ways

• Supporting staff to consider their own emotional responses to children in challenging situations

The program introduces Centre staff to new ways of approaching relationships with children in the context of brain development and neuroscience. The 2.5 hour program is an introduction to these concepts and will be presented in a practical way with simple language, designed to empower staff to take these concepts into their day-to-day work with children and families, using case studies and scenarios.

It has been designed to enhance the delivery of an educational program of the highest quality for the children and families at the Centre. In this regard the program facilitates achieving the highest possible service standards in accordance with the National Quality Framework with a focus on Quality Area Five – Relationships with Children.
